The 108th Anniversary Charity Ball supported the impressive work at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego.
THE PARTY San Diego’s finest philanthropists joined the medical community to laud Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego at its For the Love of a Child-themed charity ball. Held at the historic Hotel del Coronado, the fete attracted guests like event chair Phyllis Parrish, Darlene Davies and Dr. Jeffrey Chang, who helped raise significant funds for the organization’s well-respected Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. THE SCENE Prior to sitting down for dinner, partygoers were welcomed to a buzzy pre-ball reception, which featured live music from Todd Davidson, whose daughter is a patient at Rady Children’s. Attendees were then led into the hotel’s Crown Room for a delicious supper of lobster bisque, fresh salad and sea bass. THE HIGHLIGHTS Patrons topped off their night in the French Quarter Dessert Room, which was filled with New Orleans-inspired treats that ranged from bananas Foster to beignets to pecan divinity. The perfect ending to a sweet evening. -Meg McGuire
