High-end fashion retailer Forty Five Ten officially bowed in River Oaks District with a fab fete.
Lux clothing emporium Forty Five Ten finally hit H-Town, and the doors to its new 3,300-square-foot River Oaks District spot opened with a bang. Local fashionistas swarmed and rubbed shoulders with Forty Five Ten’s president, Brian Bolke; women’s fashion director, Taylor Tomasi Hill; and men’s fashion director, Nick Wooster.
Glasses of limited-edition tequila awaited guests as they entered the boutique designed by architect David Droese. DJ Lucy Wrubel mixed beats, while a red balloon lips sculpture floated over partygoers as they browsed the latest threads, jewelry and home items. The store even boasts a signature Assouline coffee-table book section and an extensive beauty department with several exclusive offerings.
Through the evening, artist Donald Roberston—beloved by fashion industry insiders like Anna Wintour—sketched signature fashion illustrations on scented Starling Project candles. All proceeds from the sales went to UNICEF to provide solar energy to impoverished communities around the globe. -Lawrence Knox
